Okay, this is pretty much all we have. I don't like that. I think we can piece together a lot of this shit. Even if I don't have exact dates, we can still get it down to the month and be set. We have an archive of posts for the MB back from 2001 (like like 2003 for DS, though). Some of you guys probably have AIM logs that last for years. We can even record epic threads that should be marked down for history.

Some example moments:

When Chris had the Shrine
Various moments that the server had problems (or I moved hosts)
The phpBB conversion
Regulars leaving and coming back
The first Halloween Masquerade

EDIT: Yeah, the history page is filled with highly cheesy dialogue. I want to simplify it down to a sentence or two.

The Dungeon Master? Shouldn't it be PimpDaddy as in PimpDaddy Lox (not Goldie Lox!) ;)

The G-Man vs. Sine stuff has to go in there. That was some classic battlin'.

You all are talking about personal threads and stuff, and I'm talking about the Shrine as a whole. I dunno; I guess they both belong somewhere.

Also, the newer stuff I can search pretty easily, but I'm not sure about the older stuff. Can any of you try to get some dates on this?

Sine do you still have the archives available in RPGBoard format? Or is it phpBB or nothin' now?

If I did, I would have merged them. Some of my backups got corrupted a long time ago, so I was never able to retrieve them.

EDIT: Wow, I didn't know that Wayback had any of my site. If only it could get all of the historical data. I at least now have the descriptions of some of the missing on the forums.

Honestly I think historical events that happened within threads have as much to do in the history as the actual physical development of the shrine. If nothing else it should talk about how the group of became a small, closed community like this. It would also be neat to have a listing of long time members or something, like a member history and when they were around.

A representation of our glorious past, now lost to the marauding forces of the Vandals.

Daily Stuph
People can not possibly live on gaming alone. Also, some things are terrific discussion pieces, yet do not fall into the categories that the other core forums entail. This is the place to share those little things that interest you, whether they be a joke, a riddle, or a comment on a current event. Any messages that do not pertain to the topics of the other core forums (or ruminations) should be posted here.

Music & Movies
Games aren't the only forms of entertainment in life. This forum is for the two most popular forms: music and movies. Share your experience to the inexperienced music lover, or give your recommendations on a film. All conversations on motion pictures, live-action television, or music are welcome here.

Gamethought
Gamethought is a place to discuss the games and worlds you love. If you wish to discuss any specific game or game series, this is the place. Feel free to also share ideas or any philosophies relating to gaming itself. This is the core forum for gaming discussion, period.

Archives
Questionaires
This is the place to ponder about the games we know and love. You may post a survey, a general poll, or an extensive gaming examination. Either way, feel free to delve into gaming on a more simplistic and fun level. Anything in this forum, however, should contain five or more questions which ask for short answers in a polling format.

Animetion
Animetion is the forum dedicated to the vivid world of moving art. Whether it be 'anime' from Japan, or classic 'animation' from America, both of these forms have existed since the dawn of motion pictures... for good reason. This world relates to gaming in more ways than one can explain, and is a terrific and varied experience to take part in. When you wish to discuss anime, animated shows, manga, or comics in any way, post your messages in this forum.

Creations
A public place to display and archive your creativity. Photos, fanfics, writing, artwork, programming, whatever. Replies disabled.

Online Gamethought
Man created the Internet... and it was good. However, Man was bored after a while and decided to create Online Games. This is the board dedicated to these games that some of us spend hours on end playing. Formerly a StarCraft forum, it's now pertains to all online games. Any messages which discuss online games, or the playing of them over a network, must be posted only in this forum.

Ruminations
This is the place to ruminate about gaming or life in general. Any deep thoughts, truly intellectual discussions, or meaningful revelations are highly welcome here... so long as they are intended to receive equally lengthy and deep replies. Discussion here pertains to the things that make us wonder, and we should try to concentrate on that. Any other lengthy intellectual talk or large debates are welcomed just as much.

Sports
The Sports forum is dedicated to the fine arts of sports and sports entertainment. Sports and entertainment have captivated mankind since the very dawn of civilization. It is through our love of sporting events that heroes are born and legends are made. Athletes have always been among a nation's most prized possessions and stand proud as modern day's true nobility; not by birth, but by superiority of the body and mind. Any messages which deals with sports or sports related entertainment should be posted in these forums.

I was the one who called Lox "Goldie Lox".

I was the one who convinced Slappy and Kabong to buy Subarus.

I made fun of Deadite for being a vegetarian.

I accused Sine of stereotyping just about everyone. :) Wonder if he still does that.

Okay. I'll return next year. Bye!

Well then:

- I'm the one who gave G-Man the nickname "Old Man"
- along with Joe, I'm the one who helped with the Ish + Lotus pairing
- I came up with "getting Ished"
- because of me, M'k'n'z'y became a far easier "Big Daddy Mac" :-)

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I think it's fair to point out though that I was the primary cause of his eventual breakdown - you were nothing more that the proverbial 'straw'.

I'd also like to say that the "Kali is Hacking!" incident is the funniest moment of drama in the Shrine's history, imo of course.

I'm hurt that you didn't bring up the time we frantically tried to delete multiple posts and broke the Shrine. :P Now that was hilarious.

I was the one who convinced Seeker to buy an Xbox

I turned Eric on to Hannah Montana... doujin

I bailed Ish out of jail because sodomy is still illegal in Alabama (probably?)

I won Zeus' first born in a Crazy Taxi high-score contest

I turned Lox Christian

I cured Flip's gambling problem by getting him addicted to meth

I sold Sine the rights to RPGboard

I discovered that Chris is just an alt account of Tessian's for when he's feeling slightly fabulous

I put a bomb in Bovine's lungs that will detonate if he tries to leave Saskatchewan. Enjoy PAX '10, buddy

I never did a 69 on another dude

So many memories. But yes, that was beyond funny. Me, you, Lox, Wolfsamurai got stoopid and wrecked the forum. BWAHAHAHA!

We tried to undelete the spam we posted and I think we ended up deleting stuff that was already deleted and made the Shrine crumble.

Then I made some joke about how it probably caused the server to crash and burn Sine's rickety shack down to the ground.

OH! And I was the one who always always made fun of Ish. There was another mod here who didn't like the Sports Forum. There was a mod war and he ended up leaving....and came back as a regular poster.

Remember how everyone was on my case for being pro-marijuana but anti-hard drugs? Then I asked you guys if you'd allow your future kids to do hard drugs and you were all like "No way!"

Turn coats, alla ya! :D XD

Then it turned out that Slappy was a junkie. Man....glad he's off that stuff.

Joe, you're a Tolkien fan if I remember correctly? While you were gone, Eric beat the fucking shit out of Peter Jackson. That's why he got his Mexican equivilent to direct the Hobbit.

I never did actually beat it. I think the highest I got was 49k. So you can keep your child!

Phew. Even though I have an extra, I seriously doubt my wife would take kindly to me owning up to a bet like that :-)

My record in Crazy Taxi 2 was $34k and change. I actually have that one saved on my VMU. The other record I only have my bud as a witness, I actually did it while I had my store open and needed to kill time :-)

Heh, well, this thread when to shit fast.

Anyway, so today, we moved to phpBB3. Still need to get that more complete history written, but I guess I'll need to dig through the archives to get some information on it.

Its too bad you didnt go that extra step and originally create GameFAQs. Lots of money that would bring. Ugh.

More additions. BTW, this will eventually go into a separate (locked) Shrine History forum with a few posts for the different sections.

This update may seem "Mental-centric" as I researched his posts from the archives. I'm going to be including major points of the three admins to the Shrine history, and putting the rest on the member history list. Though, Mental gets the most line items, since he's the most, errr, eccentric. I'll look at Crono and myself later on.

As well as these:
