This is the biggest mass shooting since Neo-Nazi Anders Breivik killed 77 a few years ago. Also currently the second biggest mass shooting in history.
Details are still emerging, but the guy is a 64 year old white man.
Story is breaking.

Update.
58 dead, 515 injured.
Killer's name was Stephen Paddock, who fired legally purchased automatic weapons from the 32nd floor of a resort casino.
He committed suicide before police engaged him.
One of the biggest mass murders in US history, and the biggest that doesn't involve multiple gunmen or explosions.

Looking at the Republican response to this I guess the conclusion is no gun control legislation would have ever prevented any mass murderer despite the fact that gun violence happens a lot less often in most other civilized country of the world.
