<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>or maybe it was Saturn-- Sega's copyright protection was a film on the disk's that wore off after a few months of regular use meaning after that time you couldn't play the game anymore</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>I've never heard about that. I don't think that could be true, since people sought games like Panzer Dragoon Saga years after the Saturn died.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>oh no, it's definitely true-- they used a film on the disc as copyright protection that wears off with regular use. This just means that you any current users have to get pirated versions so they last</div>

<div style='font: 10pt georgia; text-align: left; '>Disney is starting a DVD rental scheme where you get sent the DVD and it only lasts for 24 hours. Once the DVD is exposed to the air, it begins to blacken, in 24 hours, its unreadable. I havent heard anything new about this though</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "Fine Hand"; text-align: left; '>But this thing that Tess is talking about was a few years ago. Did they use this type of degradeable CD then?</div>

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>maybe it's not as easy to wear off as I was led to believe, but if you noticed PSX CD's can be scratched to hell and still work-- you get even light scratches on a Saturn and it's unplayable.</div>

I googled it. Everything I saw said that Saturn games have data on the outer rim of the disk, not part of the TOC, for copy protection. No film on the disc.</div>
