RMoney's Rule #1: Double-down on everything you say.
So far, it hasn't helped him much...
But he's still trending over 40% of the vote.....
I have never made my hatred for all politicians a secret (Clinton is still my most hated politician; Bush was an idiot, Clinton was a career, top-level politician...and I use that term in a derogatory manner). But what I find particularly offensive is the manner in which the Republicans have conducted themselves ever since they took over The House. They created a fake crisis (debt ceiling) and have done NOTHING but attempt to discredit the current administration. And, in essence, they've been campaigning against the current administration very agressively for the last 4 years. This is something that not only have they not shied away from but they've actually worn as a matter of pride. I would pissed off if I were an American, it's been not only sad but fucking embarrassing.
We all knew there was going to be a changing of the guard once McCain lost but man, it's like goin' back to medevil times here. Although the Tea Party is at the heart of it they're not the only ones. The worst part about it is these tactics actually worked and the politicians who are perpetrating these kinds of backwards-thinking ideals and visions are gaining enough power to have seriously influence, particularly within the Republican party. Since they run The House, that means serious influence, which is really sad. If it were just one or two crackpots, who cares. But it's much more than that.
And don't think I necessarily support Obama. He is an excellent orator (he's gonna mop the floor with Romney at the debates) but he's still a politician....and a lawyer before that. But goddamn, at least he's not holdin' the country hostage to get his way....
