Yeah, basically. Unfortunately it's dominating our culture and we're reliant on our government to regulate us.

On a side note: this is an example of economics relying on people's behaviour. I was actually shocked how well my psychology minor fit with my economics major. I just took psych 'cause I was interested in it.
