It's not THAT good.
It's a fun game, mucking around with friends it's great. It's noob friendly enough too as you can catch people slipping with random ultra and take off half their life, or quick-recovery into a special.
Competitively I just don't expect to see many players outside of like Sagat/Zangief winning tournaments.

Sounds like there will be a balance patch. :o
※When the game gets updated, there will be changes to the base game and characters. What changes will be made is unknown, but the “obvious points” will be addressed. You know as much as I do on this.
Sagat & Gief, TO THE GROUND...I hope.

So are they doing the same thing as SF3?
We going to get 2nd Impact and a 3rd Strike?
Personally the game is a lot more balanced then most fighters, I'll admit my Abel has a hell of a time with Sagats and Geifs though.

That's where it's a bit iffy at.
Title update could mean DLC, Capcom did promise a Championship update for Network stability/Replays.
But we all know how Capcom rolls, so we assume there will eventually be 2-3 "Sequels" for SFIV, SFIV: Dash, SFIV: Rollballs, SFIV: Fuck the world, etc.

so I have ordered a vanilla hori arcade stick from amazon.ca, and it's supposed to come to my abode in the next week or so. My excitement is mounting, as I can finally play that goddamn game without blaming the crap 360 controller for my poor performance. Now I can just blame myself.
Anyways, a nice fellow in the destructoid community has chronicled his efforts to mod out his arcade stick of the same make and model of the one destined for my ownership. I thought I'd share the link in case some of you wanted to do some slick DIY action and not wait for any more runs of the madcatz sticks or something like that.

You can buy a shirt with that on Threadless, but it ends up costing like $24 after shipping, handling, and tax

Not as funny as the Ken FC. I need a new main... also, need to play the game in order to do that... and need a stick and somebody to play locally with. Fuck.

Bunch of amazing fights at the bottom of this link. Daigo is pretty awesome, even if Ryu Dhalsim is a rough match-up for a Ryu player

Kind of a disappointing fight between Wong and Daigo after the epic Third Strike Chun/Ken match. Still wish I could have been there. I'm no good at SF but I really like watching the pros duke it out.

Went to Arcade Infinity last night and played Gootecks twice. Got my ass handed to me, but its so much better to play people in the arcades to learn.

Is it? Maybe if you want to improve and already relatively solid game, but if you are trying to learn you wont get anything out of losing in 30 seconds.

Its helpful to watch how higher level players reacts and how they use moves. Sure I got my ass kicked, but I did better each time, even against different opponents. I'm going to try going more regularly. I miss the arcade scene

I used to play SF3: Third Strike a lot at my University's arcade. The arcade isn't even there anymore, fucking travesty.

I used to learn just by standing there and watching them play.
