<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Guess I was right when I said it would bomb, and it bombed harder than even I expected it to. Ranked in below Legally Blonde, The Score, Cats and Dogs, Scary Movie 2, and edging out Fast and the Furious to make 5th place for it's debut week.

I wonder if this means there won't be any more movies by Square.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>That's not the point, I got flamed really hard for saying it would bomb earlier j/k =P</div>

<div style='font: 11pt arial; text-align: left; '>I hope not. it was still a cool movie. it just had trouble finding its audience.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt Arial; text-align: left; '>I've greatly enjoyed the shocked--shocked!--reactions of the Final Fantasy rank-and-file, who are convinced we stupid Americans can't appreciate a good movie when we see one. Ho ho ho.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Verdana, Tahoma; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>I liked it, but I knew it wasn't going to do good. Too hokey for American audiences.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "Arial bold"; text-align: left; '>I believe they're called Squareheads. The movie is good in the sense that it - along with Tomb Raider's success - should hopefully pave the way for movie game-based movies, but this time, actually bring respectable production teams. Imagine an MGS film with Steven Soderburg (Traffic) directing....</div>

<div style='font: 9pt Arial; text-align: left; '>It's still out in my area, but its in one of the smaller theaters.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt arial; text-align: justify; '>I can't help but feel that a MGS film would kick ass with John Woo behind the wheel. Wouldn't be terribly subtle, but damn, it would be fun to watch.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt "Sans Serif"; text-align: justify; padding: 0% 15% 0% 15%; '>Subtelty be damned. If you can do action like he can, then who cares about plot. John Woo is a genius. I still replay the motorcycle chase for MI:2 from time to time....</div>

<div style='font: 14pt "Sans Serif"; text-align: justify; padding: 0% 15% 0% 15%; '>I don't think the hokiness did it in. I think most people just find it too boring....or at least I did. I can live with hokey as long as the eye candy keeps me interested...</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Plakatbau; text-align: left; '>I don't think you can say that exactly, especially when you have movies like 'Cats & Dogs' (for kids, but I know there was a fair share of childless adults) occupying #1 for 2 weeks straight.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Verdana, Tahoma; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>That's a different kind of hokey. The touchy-feely Gaia, life force stuff is not the type of thing American audiences go for.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>I'm sure the lack of Buddists and Confusists are part of the problem.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Plakatbau; text-align: left; '>Gonna need to get a bit more specific term than 'hokey', because many live-action films fit that bill, with a less complex yet equally moral ending/purpose. But I see what you mean, regardless.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Verdana, Tahoma; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Hokey was good enough with the other people I talked with about the movie. Most American movies don't do all that quasi-spiritual stuff.</div>
