While commercial service providers were around in the 80's, the Internet as we know it was born in 1995. April 30th is the traditional date given.

What's sad is that this place could almost be replaced with a subreddit. It's more about the people than anything else.

I've been here for a good chunk of that myself, in various states of boing active. I was still in high school when I signed up, and now I'm 33, divorced, and working two jobs. Time flies lol!
